Vic: Private aged care nurses vow to continue industrial action
Nurses in private aged care have vowed to continue industrial action aimed at givingthem pay parity with their public sector peers.
Members of the Australian Nursing Federation have agreed to continue a ban on documentingnew patients, forcing nursing home proprietors to go without extra funding.
The action, designed to force employers into enterprise bargaining negotiations, isfor a 15 per cent pay rise over three years.
ANF assistant secretary JAN BROWNRIGG says the action is not affecting resident care.
She says the new funding system has led to a reduction in hours dedicated to nursing care.
About 50 out of 500 private nursing home operators have entered agreements with theANF since it began its campaign of industrial action a month ago.
