Vic: Bracks backs F1 jet flyover
MELBOURNE, Feb 25 AAP - Victorian Premier Steve Bracks has resisted a call for an FA-18flyover to be scrapped at this year's Formula One Grand Prix.
Federal Labor MP Michael Danby, the Member for Melbourne Ports, says the taxpayer-fundedflyover is a waste of money given the constraints on this year's federal budget.
Last year's flyover cost more than $528,000, he said.
But Mr Bracks said the flyover should go ahead.
"The reality is it doesn't cost the Grand Prix Corporation directly, it's a federalgovernment contribution towards the Grand Prix," he told 3AW today.
