Qld: Ryan's boyfriend charged with perjury

BRISBANE, Dec 12 AAP - Queensland police have charged the boyfriend of back-from-the-dead
teenager Natasha Ryan with perjury.

Police said today they had issued a summons on Scott Angus Black for one count of perjury.

The charge relates to statements made to police in relation to the disappearance of Ms Ryan.

Mr Black is due to face court in Rockhampton on January 9 next year.

Police discovered Ms Ryan hiding in a cupboard at Mr Black's Rockhampton home on April
10, during the Brisbane Supreme Court trial of Leonard Fraser for her murder.

She had remained hidden after she staged her own disappearance in Rockhampton in August 1998.

Fraser was cleared earlier this year of murdering Ms Ryan, but was jailed indefinitely
after being found guilty of the murder of two other women and the manslaughter of a third
woman in Rockhampton.
