Fed: Govt names selling agents for Defence properties

CANBERRA, Jan 19 AAP - Pensioners concerned about Telstra rental charge increases should
telephone Prime Minister John Howard, acting federal Opposition community services spokesman
Anthony Albanese said today.

Pensioners were really feeling the pinch as Telstra price hikes had outstripped federal
government compensation for the GST, Mr Albanese said.

"While Telstra's line rental charges have increased by $5.80 per month since March,
2000, the government has only increased pensioners' telephone allowance by a paltry 40
